This week, we’re launching a new feature, one we know you’ll enjoy. Each month, we plan to highlight the life and work of people in the raw food and sprouting worlds. This may include sprouting experts, raw food chefs, cook book writers, and much more. This month, it’s Raw Food Trucker, Dave Conrardy. If you are or know of someone who you feel deserves this honor, please contact me at nory.easygreen@gmail.com.

We begin with a heroic story of one man’s journey from desperation and poor health to a vibrant and glowing life. Dave (no stranger to raw food circles) shares his history and wisdom with the EasyGreen sprouting community.
Background
In 2010, “Raw Food Trucker” Dave Conrardy was ready to check out of life. He weighed in at a whopping 430 pounds, suffered from acute diabetes, and had recently been diagnosed with late stage one or early stage two colon cancer. In short, he was a fat, unhealthy wreck.
As a trucker, Dave believed his choices were limited. He binged on red meat, fast food burgers, greasy fries and typical service station nosh. As for green veggies? In the fine Reagan tradition of tomato ketchup on school lunch trays, Dave counted on getting those nutrients from the pickles on his burgers!
As Dave puts it, he was “ready to check out” when he met a husband and wife trucking team named Dave and Utah Whiting, who convinced him to look at life and food in a whole new way.
In my personal favorite video segment below, Dave discusses the spiritual aspect of sprouting and a raw food diet. He truly feels the presence of God in living foods. Who’s to argue?
A disclaimer…
Unfortunately, this was EasyGreen’s first foray into using Skype for video. We’ll be first to admit the sound and video are wanting in terms of quality. We’ll try to do better next time. Meanwhile, it’s worth persevering through the brief skips to listen to the gems that Dave wants to share with you, our community of sprouters.
Please share a link to this page with anyone you know who could benefit from Dave’s wisdom. His story is truly remarkable. Watch on!
